4 nights and 5 days in the wilderness of the Algarve, with Kundalini Yoga, meditation, Breathwork for somatic-emotional release, deep relaxation, gongs, cacao ceremony, free dance, outdoor bathtub (hotpot), chanting and mantras around the fire, friendship, local vegetarian cuisine.
An immersion in the green south of Portugal, about 20 minutes away from the ocean, with kundalini yoga, meditation, sound healing, silence, perceptual tools to look at life from new perspectives, to observe our auto-sabotage dynamics and the obstacles getting in the way of self-liberation, to improve mind-clarity. Hands-on work to improve willpower and to integrate past trauma or release blocked stress and emotions.
Break away from the usual habits that consume you and give space and time for your true Self to come to light! The retreat is open to everyone, even those who have never practiced yoga or meditation. There will be two sessions (optional) of Breathwork for somatic & emotional release.

In a very intimate and relaxing atmosphere, surrounded by nature, we will be able to strengthen the body, open the mind, nourish the soul, listen to the spirit, increase our awareness and authenticity, create new friendships, get to know new places, new smells, new tastes. Essência is a welcoming, simple but elegant ecological retreat and community center just a few kilometers from the Atlantic, about a 10 to 15 minute drive south from the city of Aljezur. We will have the entire Essência facility exclusively available to us.

what's included in the retreat

4 nights lodging with full board;

Kundalini yoga and meditation (accessible to all), multi-level: 4 sessions

Outdoor hotpot with jacuzzi (hot tub in the garden): two sessions are provided, each with a maximum of 7-8 people.

Private session with teacher (upon request; maximum of 6 private meetings of about 60 minutes).

3 vegetarian meals per day, home cooked with local products.

Herbal teas and fresh fruit between meals.

Walks in the greenery around Essência.

Beach outing: one day there is an Atlantic beach outing (to marvel at the magic of the ocean in the fall) and 1 day a sauna outing (extra payment), both about 20 minutes away from the facility where the group will be staying.

All sessions are optional except for the opening and closing meetings.

Guided tour in Lisbon: Susana Tavares was born and raised in Portugal and is at your disposal in case you would like some guidance. On Friday 3.11, if you are interested, Susana is available to accompany those who would like to have a tourist day in Lisbon, including fado, old neighborhoods and pastéis de nata (extra tour fee: CHF 35.-)

Retreat prices depend on the type of accommodation (values per person; each room has a private bathroom):
- In double room for single use: € 1'390.-
- In double room for double use (twin or couple): € 1'160.-

A minimum fee corresponding to 50% of the total investment is required to secure your place. For organizational reasons, the balance must be paid by 02/10/2023. It is possible to pay in Swiss Francs at the exchange rate of the day.

The retreat will be confirmed with a minimum of 8 registrants by 10.09.2023. Before reaching 8 registrants, the retreat is not confirmed (we advise against buying tickets/flights)!

Travel:

Travel to and from Portugal will need to be arranged by the participants (if needed, you can contact Travel Circle to arrange flights to and from Portugal).

From Italy there are several direct flights to Faro (1h30 from Essência) or with a stopover in Lisbon. It is also possible to travel to Lisbon and afterwards take a rental car, bus or private cab (about 3 hours travel time). In case of need we are available to arrange transfers from Lisbon, Faro, Lagos or Aljezur.

Susana Tavares
Kundalini yoga, meditation, mindfulness, gong and Breathwork for somatic-emotional release
Susana began studying yoga and Eastern philosophies during her college years and soon began to feel an inner call to health genesis and spirituality. She began a journey of personal growth, spiritual seeking and healing, cultivating an interest in physical, mental and soul well-being with a holistic and profound approach. In her journey Susana has traveled, read and explored various spiritual lines and approaches to self-healing.
She has certified as a Kundalini Yoga teacher under the guidance of Gurmukh Khalsa (London, 2017). She also practiced circular breathing techniques and developed perception tools under the guidance of Michael Brown and completed training as a Somatic Breathwork facilitator for emotional release.
